I.V. cannula
To avoid repeated venepuncture in patients for whom fluids, electrolyte solutions or medication must be given intravenously on a permanent basis, an I.V. cannula is inserted, which can generally be left in place for several days.
Description:
- Peripheral I.V. cannulae are used for intravenous administration of medication or infusions
- The polyurethane thermoplastic cannula material is highly biocompatible, enabling the cannula to remain in place for a prolonged period
- The atraumatic needle tip, with its triple bevel edge, helps to provide effective venepuncture
- The thin-walled cannula facilitates high, constant flow rates
- Pliable wings ensure secure and gentle placement of the cannula
- Thanks to the transparent flashback chamber, the blood backflow is immediately visible following successful venepuncture
- Our range includes I.V. cannulae with injection ports
- The injection port allows additional medication to be administered directly into the vein
- Colour coding (in accordance with the ISO Standard) ensures that the correct size of I.V. cannulae is selected
